Your Latest Dose of Doce

Vineyard Vitals

In 2011 we pulled 9 acres of Zinfandel and replanted, in 2012, with 3 acres each of Malbec, Primitivo, and Petite Sirah.  In 2014 we got our first commercial harvest from the vines.  You can expect to see these varietals in the bottle under the Doce Robles label in 2017.

Paso Robles is experiencing an early spring this year.   The lupine flowers in the driveway are in full plume.  Of course, we are all hoping for a wet spring.  The upside of this weather situation is that the last couple of years have had an early harvest with some great beginnings to some fantastic wine for the upcoming vintages.

We have just finished our spring pruning! We’re expecting another very dry season so our pruning process was very aggressive. The vines will work hard to give us a productive 2015 harvest.  All and all we are hopeful for the future and that the drought will end.

Winemaker’s Notes

** Each barrel was hand-selected for the blends in your shipment **

Sunset Red IV A unique blend that ages nicely, this club member favorite is back! Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Zinfandel, Merlot, & Barbera all play a part in this tasty libation.

2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Aged 54 months, this Cab has a cherry and spice nose with a clean tannic finish.

2009 Barbera A Doce Robles classic, this light varietal has flavors of chocolate and raspberry. Enjoy with any and all things Italian!

Critter Corner!

Mac and Genna are experiencing a new chapter in their love story—long distance! Mac is enjoying the love of a new family and Genna is ruling the roost at home. They’ll be reunited this summer and Doce Robles will have German Shepherd puppies available in October!

Lazy pups enjoying downtime in the DR tasting room

Sweet Minnie is still spending a majority of her time chasing mice & dining on warehouse cuisse de grenouille (frog legs). Her bed is, as always, sitting at the end of the tasting room bar and if you come in early enough in the day you might catch a glimpse of her!
